What we suggest you bring on an ‘all night’ investigation:

When accompanying NGRIT-UK on an all night investigation there are a number of items we suggest you bring with you – preferably in a backpack so that it can be moved easily.

1) Flask of tea/coffee/hot chocolate, as you need to remain alert at all times.

2) Warm clothing – whether you bring this with you, or arrive in your warm clothing, it is a must - particularly during the autumn and winter months. NGRIT-UK recommends thermal clothing is worn underneath other warm clothing.

3) Hats/Gloves/Scarf – also a must to ensure you are kept as warm as possible throughout the investigation.

4) Comfy/supportive shoes – as many of our sites are ‘historic’, steps are common, as are areas which may be geologically different. Therefore, it is suggested that strong, waterproof footwear is worn for the entire investigation.

5) Notebook and pen or Dictaphone – although all members of the NGRIT team will be making notes, whether written or verbally, you may wish to make your own notes during the breaks in the evening. This can assist with the recollection of ‘occurrences’ for both yourself and NGRIT.

6) Torch – preferably a ‘red light’ torch. Alternatively, a ‘white light’ torch can be brought along on the investigation, although we will need to discuss the use of this during the investigation.

7) Food – sometimes the investigations can continue for most of the evening. Therefore NGRIT suggest you bring some snacks with you to consume during the breaks in the investigation.

8) A foldaway chair/stool – where possible, NGRIT will provide guests with equipment such as a chair to sit on during the investigation. However, during investigations with guests, chairs may be limited. Therefore, where possible, please bring a chair/stool with you.
