The Team are pleased to announce being invited to

investigate this prestigious site.

Built in 1537, becoming the Rutland Arms in 1778.

The Newark Agricultural Society had regular meetings

here around 1798.

The Rutland Arms passed through

numerous owners, including:

The Paschoud family between 1788 - 1826

John Selby 1830 - 1844

The Wallis family 1844 - 1880

Henry Robinson 1880 - 1881

John Rollinson 1881 - 1883

Then a variety of of owners until W. Anderson 1909 - 1925.

The establishment suffered a serious fire on the 27th April in 1898.

During World War Two, the Rutland Arms was nicknamed the Digout.

In 1986, the name was changed to The Newark Royalist. Then in 1994, the Mansfield Brewery changed the name back to The Rutland Arms.

The staff at this Pub / Hotel have encountered glasses smashing, strange mists over the bar, knocking and banging noises, feelings of being watched, emergency lights being switched on and bottles falling to the floor.

In the function room, a member of staff walked in to find bottles smashed behind the bar, along with broken glasses and a sink pushed down to the floor. The glass washer was also filled with smashed glasses, whilst the only key holders had kept the room locked since the last event!

On the very first investigation, the Team witnessed dark shapes moving about the room, loud footstops, banging and knocking noises, along with a very dark, powerful figure in the cellar.

The Team have just completed their second investigation at the pub and witnessed strange flashes of light, along with radio clicks in response to questions. Emergency lights were activated and all pieces of equipment suffered unexplainable battery drainage from both brand new and fully recharged batteries.

Numerous shadows were seen 'flitting' about the pub and the Team were told to leave the cellar by a sinister voice.
