Ground Geology

As part of Ngrit's research into the paranormal, we study the geology of any site we research. This is to see if the geographical make up of the site can have any sort of effects on the creation of any activity. An example of this is a long held belief that sandstone is able to 'absorb' events due to the silicone content level (a bit like recording on to a vhs tape), then 'replay' the events when the right conditions occur.

The geology of a few sites where Ngrit-UK conduct paranormal investigations:

Nottingham: inc Rufford, Thoresby & Newark –
Sandstone, Clay, sand & silt, mudstone & pebbly, silty clay. Mainly mudstone & sandstone

North Yorkshire: inc Middleham, Helmsley & classified Abbey –
sandstone & mudstone, pebbly silty clay and Sand & Grave. Mainly sandstone, mudstone and limestone
