FAQ - About Ngrit & vigils

Q. Can I join Ngrit-uk?
A. At present, we are not recruiting. However, we are always looking for new Mediums to work with. If you would like to apply, please contact Patrick Firth : ngrituk@aol.com

Q. Why are paranormal investigations / vigils mainly conducted during night hours?
A. This is mainly because “paranormal investigators” have to eliminate all “natural” possibilities for noise and sightings i.e. people going about doing their everyday business at the site under investigation. Plus At night (or when dark) a persons senses are heightened thus the investigator will be able to hear, see and sense better. Also all investigators can be accounted for if any noises are heard or manifestations witnessed. Plus the investigators are usually more relaxed without worrying about everyday matters. Note: you may find more paranormal activity occurs when you have a relaxed and a happy atmosphere.

Q. What conditions are best for investigations?
A. Calm, still weather conditions, low light, quiet, between the hours of 1.30am-4.30am (obviously at these times there are few sights and sounds to interfere with concentration and allow you to utilise all your senses to the best advantage). However some spirit mediums believe it is best at sunset and sunrise.

Q. Are there any ghost clubs in my area?
A. There are many 'ghost clubs' throughout the UK. Unfortunately we do not have the address for all. Please look on the internet through a search engine such as google.

Q. How do I find 'haunted' locations?
A. There are many alleged "haunted" locations throughout the UK. Again there are many search engines on the internet that will give you this information. However you will need permission before you enter any site of interest. Remember trespassers may be prosecuted.

Q. Why do you conduct Long Term Investigations? (LTI)
A. We, Ngrit-UK, make it policy that any site we investigation should be done over a period of time and not just as a 'one-off' vigil and believe it important to forge trusting relationships with all site owners, management and organisations of the sites we are privileged to investigate.
The reason we believe that any site we investigate that may show signs of unusual paranormal' activity (a Haunting) cannot be confirmed, explained or studied properly with a just a 'one-off' investigation. Obviously there are many factors that need to be taken into account, such as what type of haunting is being displayed (there are many), is an anniversary causing the haunting, could weather conditions, seasons, times, objects or certain people cause the paranormal events to manifest? Obviously these questions cannot be answered by conducting a 'one-off' vigil, hence the reason why we Ngrit-UK prefer to conduct several (non intrusive) investigations over a period of time and hopefully find the answers you are looking for. However we only return to conduct follow-up vigils if:
(a) We (NGRIT) agree that the site in question is showing signs of a haunting
(b) We feel it necessary for us to return due to the owner feeling threatened by the haunting
(c) We are allowed to conduct several investigations for our research and to help the owner and ourselves to understand the reason for the haunting.

After every investigation we conduct (long-term or short term) we write a full and detailed report of every paranormal event encountered and log all the specialist equipment data. Once all the information and data is collated and studied by Ngrit-UK’s experts, it is then given to the site owner, manager or custodian with a full description. This also includes all and any video, audio recording or photographs evidence taken on the investigation.
This information is the sole property of the site owner, manager etc in question and will always be kept fully confidential by Ngrit-UK unless otherwise stated by the owners, managers or custodians etc.

We / Ngrit-UK have conducted many and very successful investigation over many years. We have been conducting long-term investigations at many sites for many years with great success and with the enthusiasm from the site owners, managers & custodians etc. We have also helped with or conducted, at the request of the site, many “ghost tours” and lectures on many occasions.
