A Guide to Data loggers
Data loggers play a vital part in paranormal investigations. The EL USB2 data logger shown below allows the user to specify how frequently recordings of temperature, dew point and humidity are taken. The more data loggers available, the better, as these can be set at various points around the room, enabling the data loggers to record any 'unusual' fluctuations in the atmosphere.
The team have recently acquired a number of EDDI data loggers, which specifically log sound (db) / lux (light) levels and temperature in the area. This can help when trying to establish if flashes of light have occurred, if a room has become 'darker' or if unknown sounds have been heard in a 'locked-off' room.
Note: All data from the data-loggers are downloaded into a graph format
Overall, data loggers allow the team to monitor for any changes in the room in which they are placed. This allows for correlation between any possible activity witnessed on video footage, captured on audio, or seen physically by the team.
